Luke Robbins, Secondary Mathematics

Three key qualities: respectful, enthusiastic, collaborative

Opportunities of technology are that it can enhance the learning process by allowing [[#|students]] to visualize and therefore help them to conceptualize mathematical phenomena, especially in geometry by using various computer programs that make graphs and models. Many fields that use math require the use of technology, including engineering, architecture, graphic design, and computer science. By using examples and problems from these fields, I can help engage students by relating topics in the classroom to real-world applications. Challenges of technology in the classroom are it can be a distraction, and, specifically for math, calculator dependence can prevent students from firmly understanding the material.

One thing I hope to learn in this class is how to use a smartboard!
